If you prefer a chart that is like the one on this web page please Email: ty_gereye@yahoo.com with chart request in the subject line. At the time you receive your chart, I suggest you print at least two copies. One for you notes and one for you reference to make reading the chart easier as you familiarize yourself with the components.
This series is based on the coined phrase "Eyeballing the Chart". Although the Astrology programs on the market today ease the rectification or drawing of the chart they lack the capability to teach you how to actually read and understand what the chart means.
You have the chart but it looks very strange to you. By the time you finish this series you will understand not only how to read this example chart but anyone's chart including your own.
The first lesson is to explain the houses. Each house has a glyph representing the sign on the cusp and a number on the inner ring.
If you picture a clock in your mind, apply 9 o'clock to the first house called the Ascendant. To read the chart, you need to go counter clockwise. 8 o'clock will show you the second house. 7 o'clock the third house, 6 o'clock the fourth house or Nadir. 5 o'clock represents the fifth house, 4 o'clock the sixth house, and 3 o'clock the seventh house or Descendant. 2 o'clock shows us the eighth house, 1 o'clock the ninth house, and 12 o'clock the tenth house or Midheaven. 11 o'clock represents the eleventh house, and 10 o'clock shows us the twelfth house.
The lines you see which correlates with the house numbers are called cusps.
To understand the difference between a cusp and a house, you need to think about a pie or pizza. If you have 12 guests and need 12 pieces of either, you will make the cuts equal to the face of the clock we used in the first section.
The cuts are the cusps. The servings you put on the plates are the houses. This is the easiest way after much trial and error to explain how this works.
I recommend at this time you visit the site at the bottom of this lesson and print at least one copy of the Astrology Cheat Sheet . Here is where you will learn the glyphs for the Signs and Planets as well as other great basic information and keywords for the houses.

Now that you have a chart in front of you, can you list the signs on this sample as well as the natural signs for each house using your cheat sheet? Try it!
